Mechanical Rights/Copying/Arranging A JPM Work

Mechanical Rights - If you are making 25 or more recordings of a JPM publication for sale or anything other than educational purpose you must obtain a mechanical rights agreement from our office. You may email us or call us and we will send you the contract. Charges will be at the standard rates established by the professional organizations.

JPM Music Publications was established in March, 1992, with a catalog of twenty-one selections.

To date, we have over 1000 instrumental works for jazz band, concert band, string orchestra and various small ensembles and solos. Many of our works are on various state required performance lists and we submit new selections on a regular basis. If your state has a required list and you do not see JPM publications, let us know, we will gladly submit our works. Our music has been performed worldwide from the very young musician to the professional groups. Most of our composers are or were music educators with successful programs. As you peruse our catalog, you may also see familiar names with outstanding reputations as composers. If you are a composer and wish to submit works for consideration, please follow the procedure below.

Submitting Works for Consideration of Publication

As a publisher seeking new works, we seek works that are educational and preferring works that have teaching aspects that can be linked to the state and national standards for music education. Do not submit works to more than one publisher at a time. We attempt to make decisions on all submitted works within 4 weeks submitting our reply by mail. If you wish to have your score and recording returned, if not accepted, please provide a postage paid envelope.

All submitted works should be original or in public domain. Arrangements of works that are copyrighted by another party will not be considered. Works may be submitted electronically or by mail. The submitted works must be in FINALEĀ® or as a PDF file (hard copy). Other computer generated works are accepted as long as they are camera ready. A live recording is required for large ensemble works. A midi file with proper instrument sounds may be sent for smaller, chamber ensembles and solos.

If a work is accepted, a contract will be issued. A score and parts, camera ready for printing, must be sent with the return of the accepted contract.
